About Margaret
Very few Realtors® come into the marketplace with the extensive real estate background that I bring to the Baton Rouge area. Originally licensed in Texas, my career in residential real estate began in the Dallas, Texas - Highland Park region. During my Texas profession, I sold everything from 2nd homes to Highland Park estates, and entry level real estate to farm and ranch properties. My real estate business has been based on personalized service to meet the needs of my customers. My customers can expect that my focus will be on finding the right Buyer for their property or finding the best value for their dream home or investments. In 2005, my youngest daughter decided that she would make Baton Rouge her home after graduate school at LSU. And after Katrina, it became clear to me that if I was ever to transition back to a smaller city, now would be a good time. My relocation to Baton Rouge was completed in the early spring of 2006.
My association in Baton Rouge with Coldwell Banker ONE has been a great experience. David and Andrea McKey have a great group of Realtor agents and the staff is all about taking care of business. We have the latest in technology, the highest ethical standards and a full service company to assure you that your needs are met in a timely and effective manner. Our Coldwell Banker brand is recognized as one of the leading real estate companies in the world. We have an outstanding relocation department and can assist you in finding a special agent anywhere on planet earth whether you are moving to a new market, purchasing a 2nd home or looking for international investments.
On a personal level, I am a 5th generation Texan and the mother of 2 daughters. My daughter, Paige Furr and her husband, Michael Whittington live in Dallas with their two coon hound dogs, Ruby and Luke. My daughter Liz and her husband Charley Neveau live in Austin with their son, Gabriel, Ele' the dog and Zoe the horse. My education took place at the University of Texas at Dallas where I graduated with a degree in Sociology. I spend my time away from real estate while in the city in my garden, practicing yoga and walking my dogs, Irene and Ms. Lucky in the neighborhood. The adventure of travel to exotic places, hiking and fishing are fun for me whenever I can get away from town.
Since my relocation to Baton Rouge, I have become involved in our city with participation in the Future BR surveys, involvement with the downtown community garden "Beauregarden", the Capital Area Network, the Leadership Baton Rouge program, the Pennington Biomedical Foundation fundraising committee and the First United Methodist Church. I also participate in various committees with the Baton Rouge Association of Realtors and the LA Realtor committees.
